On December 8, 2022, the Ala-Too International University hosted the final of the republican game trial “Protect from violence” among law students within the framework of 16 days of activism against gender violence, where students of the Department of International and Business Law of the AIU took 2nd place. 

In the game trial, 8 teams from the regions and Bishkek acted as prosecutors and defense, having prepared procedural documents on the plot of the case. The students' performances were evaluated by professionals in law: Almaz Kasymbekov – ex-judge, leader of the USAID project component “Ukuk Bulagy”, Rimma Osmonova – a practicing lawyer, a veteran of the prosecutor's office, Eliza Sharshenbekova – a lawyer of the GGUP, Aizada Isaeva – a judge of the Sverdlovsk District Court, Nazira Raimzhanova – a leader of the USAID project component “Ukuk bulagy”, lawyer, Aigul Mombekova – ex-prosecutor, coach of the prosecutors' training center and Zhyldyz Sydykova – judge of the Alamudun district Court.

The Republican game trial “Protect from violence” was organized by the Association of Legal Clinics of Kyrgyzstan in partnership with the Ala-Too International University, as well as the Service for the coordination of state-guaranteed legal aid under the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the USAID project “Ukuk bulagy”.

This republican competition among law students is timed to coincide with the annual campaign “16 days of active actions against violence against women and girls”, which runs from November 25 to December 10, 2022. The legal competition “Protect from violence” is aimed at increasing the activity of young people to prevent gender-based violence in Kyrgyzstan.
