Professors' trip to Britain to promote cybersecurity education

December 18, 2023

From December 6 to December 13, 2023 AIU Professors Zhyldyz Tegizbekova and Burul Shambetova visited universities in the UK as part of the Cyber Official project. To implement an innovative initiative, lecturers recently visited Wrexham University. The main purpose of the trip was to partner with the International Department and the Cybersecurity Department in order to improve the educational program of the cybersecurity course.

The cooperation is aimed at solving urgent problems in the field of cybersecurity and providing government employees with advanced knowledge and skills. The sessions were marked by fascinating discussions, knowledge sharing and brainstorming of innovative ideas. The collaboration not only strengthened the links between the institutes, but also laid the foundation for a curriculum reflecting the latest developments in cybersecurity.

Deep immersion in IT Law at Mary Queen University

The professors' next trip was to Mary Queen University, where they met with Chevener, a graduate student at that university. The conversation focused on the discussion of IT law as a key aspect in the field of cybersecurity. This meeting brought valuable knowledge about the legal framework related to cyber activities, data protection and cyber legislation. There was also an opportunity to visit the London Office of Meta, where discussions revolved around cybersecurity issues.

Strategic discussions on cybersecurity at King's College London

Our lecturers brainstormed with colleagues from King's College London, contributing to the creation of an atmosphere of cooperation and innovation. These discussions were not only informative, but also opened up opportunities for future cooperation beyond the usual academic circles.

The business visit was not only a series of meetings, but also a tapestry woven from threads of knowledge, innovation and shared visions. The partnerships forged during this trip laid the foundation for a future in which cybersecurity education is not only comprehensive, but also adapted to a dynamic cyber threat landscape.

The visits of our professors were implemented within the framework of the Cyber Official project, funded by the British Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. The British Embassy has played a key role in facilitating this cooperation by ensuring an unhindered exchange of ideas and experiences.

Upon returning from this enriching experience, we brought with us the seeds of progress sown during this collaboration. The trip to Wrexham University, Mary Queen University, King's College London and the London office of Meta not only expanded our understanding of cybersecurity, but also strengthened our commitment to shaping the future of cybersecurity education on a global scale.” - the professors noted.
