On December 7, 2023, the AIU hosted a guest lecture on “The activities of the ICRC and the foundations of international humanitarian law” with the participation of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The lecturers were the head of the ICRC mission in the Kyrgyz Republic, Elena Esan, legal consultant Umtul Murat kyzy and regional communications specialist Ermek Baysalov. 

The students actively participated, where the history of the ICRC's activities in the Kyrgyz Republic, their role in the modern world, as well as the basics of international law were presented. After the lecture, a meeting was held with the university administration, where they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the ICRC and the AIU. The event highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation in the field of humanitarian issues and human rights. The organization of the meeting was possible thanks to the efforts of the Department of International and Business Law together with the International Relations Office of the AIU.
